Where do you find security?

Where do you find security?

Many of my friends and acquaintances are enduring tough circumstances.

One is a young widow raising three sons after her husband died during the pandemic.

Another lady recently adopted her toddler grandson and also cares for her husband of 25 years who has serious cardiac issues.

Neighbors had three deaths in their extended family in a few months.

A small business owner is sidelined after he broke his ankle and can’t do the same physical labor.

My heroes aren’t fictional characters glamorized by Hollywood. They are these flesh-and-blood people who persevere with faith and hope. Despite hardship, they keep moving. They refuse to give in to doubt and pain.

They deserve our utmost respect.

Today’s prayer:

Dear Lord, please give us strength to keep walking. When we get weary, hold us close. Let us lean on You to rest a bit. Equip us to get up yet again. Amen.

Bible verse:

“I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense,” (Isaiah 12:2 NIV).
