The heart is the center of our being. Keeping it pure involves introspection. What motivates us today? Is it self-centeredness or caring for others?
The prophet Ezekiel in the Old Testament records God saying He will give us a heart of flesh, not stone. In tough times, it is easy to become hardened. Turn to Him and ask for a new spirit. Take encouragement that whatever difficulties need to be faced, He will walk beside.
“I pray the eyes of your heart may be enlightened that you may know the hope to which he has called you” (Ephesians 1:18 NIV).
