Finding security from life's storms

Finding security from life's storms

Gentle waves lapping along shore sing a peaceful song. Sunlight warms the skin and dances on top of the water.

Harbors are places of safety. They shelter us from storms.

God is that for us, if we allow Him. When tempests in our lives present, threatening to blow our faith off course, we need only to moor ourselves to assurances from His word.

When health fails, when relationships shatter and finances unravel, God still is there to secure us.

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths,” wrote the singer of Psalm 25:4-5 NIV. “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

God’s mercy and love are great. We can trust Him to guide us to ports where we can rest and regroup.

Today’s Bible verse:

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8 NIV).
