Pegasus’ Power: Humility
In Greek mythology, Pegasus was the winged horse who sailed through the skies swift as hurricane gales. Who hasn’t wanted the freedom to coast along the wind and rise above earthly cares?
Even on land, Pegasus worked wonders when his hooves struck ground. He caused a spring to flow on the Muses’mountain. We also long to connect with beauty and inspire others to see miracles.
But the one thing Pegasus knew not to do was approach Olympus in vain ambition. Despite Pegasus’ power and many victories, he didn’t overstep his bounds. Due to the mighty steed’s humility, he was said to be the one tasked with carrying the thunder and lightning when summoned by Zeus.
So can we be faithful servants of God Almighty. Even as ancient peoples shared stories that taught character, the Bible guides us into truth. There is much more than we can see.
Airplanes transit the sky, and global satellites revolve in space. The same God who inspired those technological advances rules from His heavenly throne. To carry His Word forward is an honor. We are but stewards.
Today’s Bible Verse: “Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord, to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens, who thunders with mighty voice” (Psalm 68:32-3 NIV).
