What flies faster than an Olympic racer, yet slows like an iceberg in winter sea?
Time.
This elusive measure of life never seems to go at the right speed. We either want minutes to hurry past or slow down. Clocks tick off seconds we never regain.
The notion we can control time is an illusion. Though we have choices about daily schedules, we cannot sway eternity. Only God holds that vastness in His hand.
Known as the Ancient of Days, God supervised creation and knows the end times. “Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” (Isaiah 43:13 NIV)
As we consider resolutions for this new year, ask God what’s the best way to prioritize our schedules. We don’t want to squander even a moment.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV)
