Allowing space for God to move in our lives requires hard-won patience. We are tempted to elbow in, saying, “Excuse me, Sir, but I can do this on my own just fine.”
God will step back and wait for us to see the light. “Here we go again,” He might think.
Meanwhile, we stress and strain, struggling to achieve something through fleshly endeavors.
“If only,” God might interject…
“I’ve got this!” We argue.
Until we can’t do anything more. As we collapse in frustration, He lifts us up. “Let’s try this,” He suggests.
And presto! Something beautiful and unique happens effortlessly.
These abstract images resulted from creative surrender. They began as night photographs at a water park in St. Petersburg, FL. After an unhurried time experimenting—with no preconceived idea what needed to result—the surprising gift of novel images emerged.
Hope you enjoy them and that they reveal how God releases freedom when we stop trying to control outcomes.
Be willing to try new things and open to His amazing surprises.
Today’s Bible verse:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV)
