One of the joys of the holiday season is decorating our homes with scented candles and cheery ornaments. A special craft I love displaying each year is a gift from my friend, Jodie. Her present began as splintery, rough slats from a sod pallet, but Jodie envisioned something better.
She took items from a trash heap and recycled them with love. After hours of sanding, measuring, hammering, and varnishing, she assembled a beautiful box and filled it with greenery. This lovely table centerpiece reminds me of a rustic setting hundreds of years ago in Bethlehem. Jesus arrived in a humble stable to afford us the luxury of eternal life.
Take a moment to thank Him for His steadfast love. Then reach out to others in the same giving spirit to add a sparkle of warmth and kindness.
