In a society where beauty often is commercialized, many of us may feel we fall short of being attractive. Maybe our teeth are a bit crooked or freckles dot an otherwise clear complexion.
But we can ignore what ads tell us is handsome and be confident God’s crafted us in unique and wondrous ways.
Consider ostriches. According to “bird” standards, they may miss the mark. They can’t fly! But they can run up to 40 miles per hour.
Pandas might look chubby, even though they eat a lot of green bamboo. They are excellent swimmers and tree climbers.
Ever stick your tongue out at yourself in the mirror? Giraffe tongues are dark blue as protection against sunburn in Africa’s heat. Their great height allows them to scan the savanna for predators. Each animal’s coat pattern is distinct; no two are the same.
We humans also are unique. Don’t fall prey to messages that you aren’t good enough. You're incredible!
God created our inmost being and knit us together in our mother’s womb. Let’s praise Him for our individuality.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well,” (Psalm 139:13-14 NIV).
